Orchid surprise

I thought this orchid was dead so I popped it behind a curtain and just left it. Imagine my shock when I noticed this, this morning!

There’s probably something deep about just letting go and letting things happen. Or about resilience (I’ve still been watering it, but all of my plants can tell you how inconsistent that schedule is). Or about little beautiful miracles when you need them. Or about winter coming to its end and things starting to bloom again.

I might be projecting a lot on this orchid, and it’s just there like 😑

But now that I know a little bit about what its deal is, I probably won’t freak out as much when I inevitably “kill” it again. I’ll say “well its leaves still have bounce in them, let’s wait and see.” You can trust in cycles, but you can also use each one as a chance to try things in a new way.

It doesn’t need to feel like a carousel to nowhere.
